STAMPLESS COVERS OF SWEDEN SWEDEN – 1884 Uncommon Stampless Cover from Linköping to Cambridge, Wisconsin, United States with Postage Due of 10¢ and Railroad Cancel |

Front: A rare stampless cover from with uncommon origination and
destination. This was in the period of stamped mail under the Universal
Postage Union and should have been posted with a Swedish stamp worth 20
öre or 5¢. It was short paid and thus struck with the large black boxed
"T" which was the universal notation of postage due. It then proceeded
on its way to New York without a stamp and there was struck with a "DUE
10 Cents". It was then sent on to a small town in Wisconsin where the
recipient had to pay 10¢, or double the normal rate, to receive the good
news from Linköping. There is also a lovely Railroad Cancel on the back
