Front: Bright Pristine US #115 with center low grill tied by circle wedge cancel. Black "PORTAGECITY/DEC/27/WIS." single circle cancel.
Reverse: Pencil notation "Letter Written December 26, 1869". ex Gaston.
Notes: The best thing to note about this wonderful cover is that it is a scarce cancel with a beautiful, clean crisp stamp on a colorful envelope. This cover is from the Sellew American Correspondence (1803 - 1973) and has never been on the market before.
Condition: Extremely Fine Cover. Stamp has small tear lower left (cert says LR) just above "S" in "SIX". Cert notes light abrasions but still a nice 4 margin copy.
Contents: Envelope only, no contents. Addressed to Mrs. L. G. Sellew, 176 Fulton Street, New York
