Antony, Paris Receiving Mark

Front: An exciting and very colorful Advertising cover from Syracuse, NY to Châtenay-Malabry, a southwestern suburb of Paris next to Antony, the adjoining suburb. Full of markings and stamps all with vivid colors on a nice blue envelope.
Reverse: Backstamped receiving mark for Antony, Paris and some miscellaneous docketing.
Notes: An interesting cover with two pairs of large banknotes showing an unusual combination to reach the 20¢ rate then in effect for a letter weighing over ½ ounce but not over ⅔ ounce. (see Hargest p. 174). The colors and type fonts of the corner ad lend a vivacity to this cover mailed during a very transitional time in US-French Postal relations.
Condition: Very Fine Cover and Stamp. The envelope has a bit of rough opening along the top which impacts both front and back flap slightly. Left 7¢ stamp has slight crease across forehead and left 3¢ stamp has some short perfs.
Contents: Envelope only no contents.
